Ohio National Guard personnel records by county, 1863-1866.

Contains personnel records consisting primarily of enrollment records and records of elections of officers. Each entry in the enrollment records includes recruit's name, age, date of enrollment, and residence. Each election record lists names of voters, each office being contested, name of candidates for each office, and number of votes each candidate received.

When Mexican and Civil War soldiers mustered out of service, many regiments turned their flags over to the state of Ohio. The General Assembly authorized the purchase of glass cases to display battle flags in the Statehouse.
